While spending many hours at the Sarah Lawrence post office sorting mail, sending out boxes, receiving boxes, interacting with hilarious UPS and FedEx delivery men and consuming more fast food than is good for most people (not us) Tessa and I discovered our mutual love for snail mail.
We often found ourselves answering questions like “Umm, where does the address go?” and “How do you put a stamp on this?” But every once in a while someone would get a big envelope that their little sister had drawn all over or a boy would get a Valentine’s day box covered with heart stickers (it was from his mom) and Tessa and I would discuss how great it was before handing it over to its recipient.
We’d always gush over the packages we sent our friends and I always thought how wonderful it would be to get any sort of mail from Tessa. So I was more than thrilled when I received this photo.
I think you sense my excitement.
I can’t wait for the treasures we share with each other.
Here are two Italian ads about how beautiful writing can be.
It really does last.
