Ever walked by a poster or a wall that speaks directly to you? And it isn’t even an advertisement designed to capture your interest: a sign that says how awesome you are. Or a sidewalk chalkboard that asks what you wanted to be when you were a kid full of wonder; and what you want to be now that you are an adult full of wonder. Some stenciled white words on the road that make you stop and think, “it’s good to be here“.

Candy Chang is a public installation artist, designer and TED Fellow among many other astonishing things. She has done an endless number of projects, every one of which we would love to talk about. But we’ll show you our favourites and leave some exploring up to you!

I Wish This Was

This project was inspired by empty store fronts in Candy’s New Orleans neighbourhood. The stickers were available in stores, cafés, bookstores and a variety of other locations and people were encouraged to write on them and stick them around the city.

Before I Die

“Things to do before I die”. We’ve all either thought about it or actually have a list. She took this idea and turned it into a public interactive installation.

Next Meal Unknown

Candy made this poster about food insecurity for Poster Offensive last year.
