men with moustaches: the manabago men

This is the first post of our new series “Men with Moustaches”. It’s just as it sounds- we’re going to show you men with moustaches who are doing interesting things.  It just all looks better with a moustache doesn’t it?

Meet Alex Cox and Mark Slagle, drivers of the Manabago. The Manabago used to be a 1971 Winnebago that the two were using to drive across the United States to help spread the word about MANA (Mother Administered Nutritive Aid).  MANA is RUTF (Ready to Use Therapeutic Food), and it’s been designed specifically to treat kids diagnosed with severe acute malnutrition (SAM). RUTF can be broadly defined as peanut butter mixed with fortified milk in an over-sized ketchup packet (information courtesy of MANA).

But as you can see in the video below, the Manabago recently blew up. [sad face]

Here is another video about what they are doing and what MANA is and how you can help.

Since these two are now walking across the United States to colleges, schools, really anywhere before Christmas 2011 to help save the lives of 10,000 kids, do a good thing today and help spread the word!
