Our fathers still tell us about that time they didn’t have cellphones or telephones and how amazing it has been to see the incredible journey technology has taken since. From desktops to laptops to iPads, from this guy, to this, to the iPhone – technology really has come a long way. The internet keeps us connected every single second of every single day. A big event, and sometimes a totally insignificant event happens on the other side of the globe and a single Tweet has you instantly updated.

We’ve become so used to these forms of communication that we sometimes forget what came before them. The Museum of Obsolete Objects, created by the German digital agency Jung von Matt has a collection of videos, often hilarious, describing how these old school objects work and leave us totally relieved that innovation is such a huge part of the world.

Our favourites- the mechanical mixer, the fax machine, the abacus and the mouse (though that’s only becoming obsolete in 2015).
